Nevada’s New Law Means All Businesses Must Encrypt
Once upon a time there were some professions that were untouched by the age of technology. They didn’t have to worry about using computers and learning how to text. But, with the huge popularity of instant messaging, email and every other neat gadget everyone is getting on board. For example, there’s a story in the Wall Street Journal about a Nevada hairdresser who talks about how often she utilizes email in her work. And now that there’s a new law in Nevada requiring all businesses to use encryption, she’s having to jump on board that train too.
”A Nevada law that took effect this month requires all businesses there to encrypt personally-identifiable customer data, including names and credit-card numbers, that are transmitted electronically.”
